From a medical point of view, intercourse during menstruation is perfectly fine. It is generally safe to have sex during menstruation. Having sex during periods can be confusing at times. Most men have claimed that period sex seems messier when compared to intercourse on normal days.

In contrast, menstrual blood is normal blood mixed with tissue removed from the lining of the uterus. Penis is not affected by menstrual blood in any way.
